February 9th, 2018 03:38 PM #31Sir, that’s 24years old... my thought is, yes naka mura ka nga pero baka sa maintenance mag mumura ka... hehehe... kidding aside... revisit your objectives in buying the car, yung mga list ng tanong mo... mahirap na kung nasa huli ang pag sisisi...
OT: ang paghahanap ng 2nd hand car is parang pag-ibig din, minsan swerte kasi nahanap mo yung sakto para sayo, pero meron din naman malas kasi papapasahin ka lang na kayo na forever but in the end, alam mo na yun! Hehe!

February 9th, 2018 09:23 PM #33As much as possible, do not scrimp when buying a car. You may get one for cheap, but you will most likely spend just as much to get it back to top shape.
For example, we got a 1997 Japan surplus Granvia last 2016 as part of a debt settlement. This model is selling for around 150-250k in the used car market depending on the unit's condition. I agreed to getting the unit since I knew the guy really had no means to pay me and that the unit, at least, has a good engine. To get it back to daily driver material, I've had to spend around 150k on repairs and upgrades.
The EG Civic is known for rust issues. If it is an automatic, 90s Honda ATs are also known to be unreliable. It would be better for you to get a Sentra instead. At least 2000 model or newer.

February 13th, 2018 11:26 PM #35or the next sentra version after that.
i feel that this next body after the grandeur, will be easier to maintain, as it is still very popular... taxi model... marami pang nakikita sa daan.
the grandeur was sold in relatively small numbers... wasn't this the model yulon of taiwan handled?

The Sentra N16 platform was sold for a long time (12+ years) in the local market. Even after the Sentra 200 (B16 platform) was introduced locally in 2010, the N16 platform was still selling better.
The Grandeur Exalta series was released late 2001 and sold up to 2003. The same N16 platform was used over the next few years on the Sentra GX 1.3L (MT and AT), Sentra GSX 1.6L MT, Sentra GS 1.6L AT, and Sentra 180GT (1.8L AT).
When Nissan Japan took over from Yulon in 2014, it brought the Sylphy.

February 15th, 2018 08:48 AM #39that money can get an (older) altis already. king of boringly reliable cars, if that is what the buyer prefers.
but the older altis is a bit cramped inside. if one is big, he might not be too happy inside. the sentra is more spacious.
i have had a cedia cvt. it drove like a dream and had generous car interior space. but it also near drove me to the poorhouse. it guzzled gas at 5-6 km/li in the city, back when traffic wasn't as bad as it is now. to this day, i still do not know why it gargled gas.Last edited by dr. d; February 15th, 2018 at 09:29 AM.

No prob bro.
Good luck sa car hunt.
Tip ko lang wag mong tipirin sa pagbili imaximize mo yung budget mo sa pinaka OK na makukuha mo.
At wag mag madali, pag may pinuntahang unang auto wag agad bilin.
Nagustuhan ko yung size and comfort nya sa loob. hindi masikip(For me).
Thank you!
