October 19th, 2018 09:49 AM #33the yaris sana.
but perusing olx, for some un-explained reason, it seems to be asking for a higher price than the local cousin vios.
so my recommendation is a basic MT vios. wag lang ex-taxi.
because this car is very popular here, you should have little trouble fixing her up.

October 19th, 2018 10:53 AM #34Welcome to Tsikot sir!
I was on the same boat as you some 20 odd years ago. All I can give as an advise is "If there's a will, there's a way"... so follow what your heart desires and go for it. Good luck finding your first car. It is actually the one of the most enjoyable part.

October 19th, 2018 11:17 AM #35follow your heart, but mediate it with your wallet.
never assume that your wallet is thicker than it really is.

Go for it TS. There is always a first time for everything. And if it doesnt work, lesson learned. Good luck!

Right hand drive kasi sa Japan, meaning nasa right side yung steering wheel. Para maging left hand drive, madaming parts ang pinapalitan. Walang kasiguraduhan kung maayos ba pagkagawa nito. Mas maigi, iwasan na lang ang converted cars from Japan as a general rule.
Suggestion ko, 1st gen vios na lang talaga tulad ng sabi ng iba, kung may problema man, madaling ayusin. Just check if may oil sludge issues ang engine.
But with your 150k budget, parang may nakita ako na Lynx RS na sakto sa budget mo sa OLX... Baka gusto mo nun, matulin din yun.

October 19th, 2018 01:53 PM #38On a tight budget, I'd give my vote for a 2nd hand Toyota.
-Parts are more or less very common (vs Korean, American or even other Japanese brands);
-Parts aren't too expensive ( vs. Hondas, Nissan)
-Maraming marunong gumawa, or with experience gumawa ng "remedyo" (i.e. workaround) repairs- though I also frown on the latter.
Ang 2nd hand, usually (though not always) may "mga toyo na" so expect to have to repair something down the road. I'd suggest keeping that in mind din sa budget mo.
