Tsikoteers, magandang araw po sa lahat.

im about to get lancer ex glx mt kasi gusto ko yung porma at tsaka 1.6 po siya. Pero nabasa ko sa previous threads/posts, there are three major concerns:

    1. Hindi maganda ang interior.Talaga bang pangit/hindi maganda ang interior? O. Medyo okay lng.

    2. Trunk space.

    3. Maganda (exterior) na ba ang stock model, or kailangan talaga ng bodykits para gaganda pa 'to.

    4. Fuel consumption.

As for d honda city 1.3 mt. D following are my concerns:

    1. Talagang gusto ko ng manual, pero 1.3 lng available. Hndi ba underpowered 'to?

    2. What can u say bout its exterior and interior designs?

    Factors to consider:

    1. Mostly city driving.

    2. Im single, 29-31.

    3. Im a working professional (gov't office dept head). So im considering a car na medyo bagay for me. Is lancer ex too sporty for me?

    4. Shud I wait for 2014? I read na may lalabas na new honda city, honda jazz, mazda3.

    Thanks po.

    Lancer
#1, personal preference mo na yun. Check mo muna. Medyo simple, & clean yun design.
#2, ok naman trunk space. Di naman kaliitan. Syempre, mas malaki sya than your other choice (Honda City)
#3, personal preference, For me, no need for body kits. Ma-angas naman dating nya.
#4, FC, syempre 1.3 > 1.6. But FC is similar vs other 1.6L engines. Check mo na lng yun thread ng Mitsu.
I think, you'll get 8km/l city driving. 10-12km/l on highways

    Honda City 1.3L
    1. Ok naman Honda City, but sabi nila, rev happy daw ito. Meaning, to get torque, you have to rev the engine. Means higher FC if you want to go fast....at a faster pace. BUT, normally, 10km/l city driving sya.
    2. Ok naman Honda City interior and exterior wise. What I don't like is the plastic knobs. Too plastiky talga.

Kung dept head ka, mas maganda sa image mo ang Lancer. Bigger car.
SHould you wait for 2014? If you wait for that, ang next na tanong mo, should I wait for 2015.
If you have budget now, buy now.

Check check mo na lng rin, if you can wait for Mazda 3...para ma compare mo vs Lancer. Pero sureball, mas maliit ang trunk space ng Mazda 3.
    Pero, your call talaga. :D

Not considering Accent hatch dsl? Or the all new Vios?

If I'm single (kasi same age tayo ), I'll get a sporty car no matter what position in the corporate ladder I hold. Personal preference lang sir.

As for your concerns on the lancer,
    1. A buddy of mine drives a lancer ex but the 2.0 version. Ok naman for me ang interior. Di naman ako masyado maselan sa sasakyan,eh. Ok din ang legroom. Not sure though in 1.6 variant.
    2. Trunk space medyo mababaw nga. Pero single pa lang naman so IMO di mo pa naman siguro kelangan ng malaking trunk space unless you play golf every weekend
    3. Porma - personal preference mo na yan.
    4. Check mo yung mitsu fuel consumption thread for me details. Wait din natin ang feedback from owners.

    For Honda City,
Ok naman ang City (interior wise and exterior wise). Di naman siguro underpowered ang city. Although tama sila, medyo mataas ng rpm kelangan mo to achieve torque.

Anyway, both are good cars. Malaki lang IMO ang lancer. Good luck TS. HTH

Lancer. It's bigger. With all things taken equal, more space always equates to better comfort. You might just get caught tomorrow and go on that honeymoon ride to pagudpud, you do not want your new bride to be suffering from leg cramps!

    unless she's a dwarf

Thanks everyone for your insights...im leaning towards the lancer ex glx mt. i know that I have to check the car myself. Pero im n0t really good at choosing what car to get or perhaps confused dahil sa dami ng m0dels ngay0n. That's why I am asking for your opinion.

I've seen a number of them but I haven't checked the interior (design) yet. I've read some feedbacks na hindi maganda ang interior. the question then is if it's worth sacrificing given the positive feedbacks on the other aspects.. Pero if hindi ganun kasama yung interior, I thnk il be going for the lancer ex glx mt na talaga.

As of the ride, im n0t sure if I can spot the difference since I think all sedans have more or less the same ride. As ive said, hindi talaga ako car or driving expert. Pero im sure I shud n0t compare or gauge it with mpv or suv.

    Once again, thanks everyone.

Actually, when buying a car, test drive before u buy, at least u get the feel of it before parting with your hard earned money. As a consumer, right mo yan. Exercise it

Di naman pangit interior sir. It just feels and looks old. Walang cockpit style dash with nice, fancy buttons or the like. Isipin mo nalang, function over form. The base model is the most loaded base model for compact cars at the price range. Kaya sinabi kong function over form kasi meron 8inch touch screen for media and navigation. May gps na built in. Kelangan mo lang ng sd card with the maps para mapagana. Tapos may reverse cam pa. Walang base model may ganun at the price range. Pero yung mga compartments talagang maliliit. Tapos may hump sa gitna ng leg area sa back seat. Yun lang naman yung ayaw ko sa interior na medyo off talaga for me. Pero wala akong pake. Dala naman ng exterior eh. Haha. Since youre getting the base model. Medyo mandatory ang bodykits. Sideskirts lang, lowering springs, new 18 inch mags okay na. Spoiler kung trip mo talaga sporty look. between your 2 choices, lancer talaga ang better choice. Medyo unfair comparison nga eh. Kasi higher segment talaga ang lancer. Good luck sir. If youre aiming for sheer practicality, vios nalang. Pogi naman yung new model.

Fuel consumption is good for the lancer. At par with the altis siguro or better. No data for that though. Pero lahat ng naka 1.6 whether manual or auto (maslalo sa manual) masaya sa FC. but dont expect it to be as good as the vios or city. Syempre being subcompacts advantage talaga nila yun
