I have a 12 year old Accord, and I have to admit many many times I wanted to dispose of it... Pero guess what I still have it... Cause its resale value is fantastically low that it just makes sense to keep it even though malakas sa gas... I just use it for the trips to the wet market and small errands...

hehe! it may be true to others, but it depends upon the person's confidence, priority, personality, etc. i know some rich people who maintain some "not to old" but more cars, using them alternatively even if they can afford to buy 3-5 brand new cars/suv's. siguro ayaw magpahalata na mayaman sila so they prefer to use old cars. or they prefer to use their money in business than to buy a new car.

while others are buying brand new cars but just rent in an apartment because they don't have their own house & lot and the price of their car/suv is more or less equivalent to the price of a house and lot.

malakas nga sa gas but more comfortable naman i-drive specially sa highway and at high speed, as compared to newer compact/economy cars diba? i have a friend who owns a 2008 toyota corolla altis, it was a brand new unit when he purchased it. when he rode at my 1997 mitsubishi galant (same class ng Accord mo), sabi nya, mas stable tong car mo. hehe! then, pag sumasakay ako ng toyota corolla/vios na taxi, maalog talaga compared sa midsize sedan like Galant/Accord.

Yes naman! Legendary! Looks like our Trooper is here to stay. Got out of the casa February, 2002 and we bought it 2nd hand at October, 2003 with 20000kms on the clock. Is now just closing in to 70000kms after 7 years with us. Yes, there are some brittle interior parts like the maplight switches, the busted A/C button light and the hard-to-clean beige interior and white exterior paint. And there's the notorious 4JX1 engine problems. But they didn't really create a huge impact with us. Just had the parts replaced, end of story. Uptil now, its still very comfortable, the engine runs like clockwork and it is still a very fast car on the road.

You might have issues with sensors and electronics within a decade or so.

So you think it won't be as good as the W123/W124?

How many years can you hold on to a particular car model?
