i've noticed the difference in prices of new cars between dealers and direct import is around 10-20%. it's just difficult to take the risk of going direct on an expensive purchase that something might be wrong .

I would think those that are repossessed by the bank are sold "as is". Can anyone confirm this?
For dealers naman, siguro yung mga may puwesto at nag-aadvertise they wouldn't want their names tarnished by bad rep such as pagkalikot ng odometer or heavy collision repair.

Bank sells their cars in "as is where is" basis. They are relatively selling it above than fair market value of the car. Walng bangkong magbebenta ng palugi.
Kung bibili ka sa direct seller, mas sure kung may kasama kang mekaniko or marunong tumingin ng makina at kumilatis ng body and underchassis. Mas mura ang direct selling dahil wala ng add-on or mark-up value. pwede ka pa tumawad ng palugi.
Kung sa dealer, the only disadvantage is the selling price due to markup value. But, if you are going to buy a second hand on a bank-loan, dealer is the best approach. They know the procedures in bank processing while real owners would not comprehend easily the process.
