    Good day mga bro!

I am planning to buy a 2nd hand car for my parents. Ang budget ko ay para lang sa year 1997-1999 models, 1300cc lang. Puntirya ko ay either Corolla (big body or lovelife) or Lancer (pizza pie). Can anyone help me choose between the 2? Pros and cons . . Thanks!!!

Get the Corolla no questions asked. I used to be a pizza owner, the suspension sucks!

If you are choosing the Corolla... get the big body over the lovelife model because the lovelife is really cramp inside, especially the rear seats. The only good thing of the lovelife model is the handling.

If later on your parents will need to sell the car, the big body corolla is much easier to sell, and you will get more money worth for it.

The thread is 11 years old. But I have the similar question as the original poster.

Are the 1998-2000 Corollas still a good buy for 2020?

To an extent totoo ito doc. Provided yung magandang klase na spare parts na nilagay. Madami na kasi china parts na nakasulat "made in japan"

    many years ago,
kahit yung VW stores, naloloko ng fake bosch brand parts.
may nag-complain kasing costumer... "bagong bago spark plugs ko... bakit palyado??"

    alas!
the lancer's days are numbered. it will conceivably be discontinued in the near future...
the corolla, however, is alive and well, even as the vios is stealing its potential costumers.

The Lancer has been discontinued by Mitsubishi since 2017. The same goes with the Evolution. The platform has joined the Galant and Eclipse which were discontinued in 2012. The other classic Mitsubishi, the Pajero, will be discontinued by 2021.

The Lancer might be resurrected as a crossover as some news indicated but it depends on how Nissan decides for the brand. Most people have no idea that Mitsubishi is now owned by the Renault-Nissan group.
