Ask the owner for the car's service records. Even if the car was serviced outside casa, an owner would know when and where his car was serviced.

Our masters here would know. Sila din guide ko when I buy a 2nd hand car. For the fd, known issues I've experienced are the power steering system, engine support, dashboard rattle, and relatively stiff ride.

I think the engine support is the most common issue for the Civic FD but this is an easy fix. The stiff ride is a characteristic of a car which is tuned for a bit of sportiness. It is not that stiff to be bothersome for rear passengers though.

For the hydraulic power steering, just make sure you use the Honda-specific power steering fluid. Using something else may result to unwanted effects.
