the few times i inquired at the mitsu showroom, there was always a huge discount in the offing.
my guess is, offering this huge discount in lieu of posting cheaper prices, gets their costumer.

One factor din is mataas pila ni Toyota.
So for those buyers na need immediately ng car, sa Mitsu pumupunta as a second choice.
I think most units nila ay may available stocks right away.

    that, too.
in the late 90s, the corolla xe was being promo'd, and the line was long.
i hied over to nissan, where i was handed my sentra, after a few days.
in my opinion, that sentra drove nicer than the corolla. magaan ang manibela at pidals, and the aircon was superb. "kotseng pambabae".
    heh heh.

Maybe they have to breakdown also ilang units na benta per price bracket.
Dyan natin malalaman if sa affordable price ba talaga na enganyo mga buyers.

Wala kasing Honda sa top ten, probably because of the price.
Mirage and Xpander has units below 1M.
Vios is due to taxi business.
Yung Hilux lang, ano price bracket ng lower variant nito?
Yung Innova din, I think meron less than 1M na Variant, diesel unit pa.
HiAce is due to VAN fleet.
Yung malakas sa top ten ay si Fortuner, yan at least 1.6M presyohan pero maraming nabenta.

some years ago, i went to the casa to buy myself an automatic innova.
and there was on display a new-to-the-local-market wigo AT, without any local reviews available for my guidance, ... but selling for half the innova's price...
i mean, it was the cheapest AT car in the entire stealership...!

    as they say,
the best way to avoid temptation, is to give in.

    Update:

Here’s how many hybrid Honda CR-Vs were sold last year | TopGear PH

Honda sold over 700 units of the sixth-gen CR-V from September 2023 until the end of last year. At the same time Honda also said how many of that were the RS e:HEV. The exact number, you ask? It’s 262 units.

i think toyota is number 1 in japan. but nissan isn't exactly a laggard.
why nissan is low in the philippines, is probably more a result of local marketing.

New Car Sales in 2023 by Major Brand

By brand, the Honda N-Box “tall wagon”-style minicar was the top-selling passenger car for the second consecutive year with a year-on-year increase of 14.4% to 231,385. The other top two places went to Toyota’s compact car Yaris, which sold 194,364 (a 15.3% increase) and Daihatsu’s minicar Tanto (a 47.8% increase). Although the N-Box appears compact, it has a spacious interior and has helped maintain the popularity of minicars. Another positive factor was that it underwent a complete model change for the first time in six years.
