I'd recommend a 2011/12 montero or strada 4x2. Just change the wheels to one with a wider stance kasi nasa baguio ka, iwas taob sa marcos hiway lalo pag pababa.

Santa fe 2010/11? May dpf na yan. Stop and go traffic in baguio will kill the dpf, unless of course you take it down to the lowlands for some spirited runs every month. Baka maisipan mo pa shell fuelsave o petron dieselmax lagi ang karga nakow pow kawawa nasa likod mo pag nagregenerate ang dpf, kung di pa nasira. Maselan santa fe sa fuel, caltex or unioil lang. Pag shell or petron ayaw sa mura gusto sa mahal.
AFAIK Gen 2.5 SF is still Euro 2, hence no DPF yet. What I'm more concerned about is parts availability in the area, especially outside the casa.

The Gen 2 has a DPF? Hindi ba EGR lang? Never experienced a regen. Never had any black smoke, in fact. Ang alam ko kasi is that the DPF was only installed on local units when Euro 4 standard was implemented.

Gen2 and gen2.5 were all kdm. So possible euro4 na sila that time although euro2 pa lang ang standard ng fuel sa pinas.

Mukhang tatay pag innova? Pag fort or montero baka mapagkamalang lolo. Dami seniors into PPV's kaya nga naglalabasan yung mga SUA kuno.

On a more serious note, a diesel crossover particularly Santa Fe would be my choice given the criteria. Yes may stop and go traffic sa Baguio but there are some long uphill stretches that can give its DPF some "exercise".

    Namention din dito dmax.
Lamang lang ng "isang paligo" ang dmax sa hilux in terms of riding comfort for me.

Sa generation of trucks na tinitingnan ni ts. Yung strada talaga ang pinaka comfy. Kahit sa CAR twisties pa dalin, di nakakahilo.

If you really are decided to get a Fort or a Hilux, allocate budget for aftermarket suspension (around 50k for Toughdog).
