    well, infomercials say the stonic platform and interior are based on the rio.

    is that good or bad?

    Nothing wrong with that. Almost every car manufacturer share its platforms across its model lineup.

    The HRV is based off the Jazz platform, the XV on the Impreza, the ASX on the Lancer, and a few more.

    i guess my subliminal question was,
    "it's based on the rio. is there something wrong with the rio, that could've carried over to the stonic?"

    Wala naman widespread concerns about the Rio. It just happens to compete against the Jazz locally. Kia and Hyundai have come a long way from its crude models back in the early 90s.
