based on experience, gas consumption ng spacewagon (MT, model 1996, EFI) for city driving is 4-5km/l at sa highway driving is 6-7km/l with A/C on, change gear around 2k rpm. yun spacewagon ng cousin ko is mas malakas sa gas, model 94 - carb type. hth

hay sana makahanap ako ng mura nito. ok lang sakin kahit hindi ganun kabilis, basta madala ko yung family ko from point A to B ng safe at komportable, ayus na sakin yun.

Pareho lang naman ang Vitara for the most part of its whole life. At the last few years of its life, yung iniba lang ay ang dash, if I remember correctly.

If you are in the city, I suppose the easiest way to find out if the 4x4 system works is to put it on a lift and engage the 4x4.

Look for mud and rust in the hard-to-reach areas in the cabin, engine bay and by the door hinges. Check also if all electronic parts are working. If there's anything wrong with the things mentioned, those may be tell-tale signs of a flooded vehicle. But since its the Vitara we are talking about, I wouldn't mind very much if it was flooded or not, as long as it is fixed and properly maintained. Ang tibay eh.

my recommendation is the most commonly encountered car on the road.. the toyota corolla. mebbe 1995 upwards. matibay. maraming piyesa. maraming marunong magkumpuni. decent fuel efficiency. look for a first owner who took care of their car. and get the most expensive unit you can afford. i have found out that the more expensive buys tend to have less headaches and expenses..
looks like a taxi? so what and who cares! most people who matter, do not care what you drive, as long as they do not have to push it..
btw, almost all used cars are fuel-efficient, compared to the saturn V rocket engine..
and remember: there are reasons why some of the more recent used models sell cheap.. one is fuel inefficiency. another is parts un-availability, or parts are too expensive.. that is why i am suggesting you get the more popular model..

it's really hard to find a decent car sa range ng budget mo sir... baka sumakit lang sa ulo mo ang pagpapagawa... baka lang sa huli magsisi ka na sana nagbudget ka nalng for a 300k car kasi ganun din nagastos mo kakapaayos :D siguro mga 10yrs+ old cars na yan. and believe me you don't want to buy those cars kahit gano pa kaingat ang owner nyan. we have a toyota corolla xe, 10+yrs old car na siya at kahit anong ingat at maintain namin. sirain na talaga siya ipon nalang muna kung hindi pa talaga kelangan talaga.
