August 6th, 2009 02:07 AM #1I want to put speakers perhaps 2 6 x 9 at the back. But my problem is I cant determine where to put it without boring holes on the doors or removing the back seats. A friend told me to put it in the space behind back seats.
will this set-up produce good sounds? how will the speakers be mounted on the box? thanks so much for the replies

Sure, you can mount it anywhere as long as front facing.
Most ALL car audio midrange speakers (4", 5.25", 5.5", 6.25", 6.5", 6x9", etc...) are designed for infinite-baffle installation. This means that they were optimized to be used in doorpanels, rear decks, etc...
Leave them out of boxes. I'm not saying they can't sound good, I'm just saying that it would take a lot of trial and error (you'd have to build a bunch of different sizes) to get them to sound right, as they weren't designed to be used in boxes.
Choice I would have made as well.
