    Araneta car accessories.
Speakers is the way to go first. Or why not both at the same time if you have $$$

In my experience, yes, improved sound quality if coming from a crappy headunit.

The only worth while features to have now on a headunit is bluetooth, apple and android carplay. It depends on what you need talaga so go out and try to test it for yourself since sound quality depends person to person.

a crappy headunit can still provide low level signals that can be shaped and improved by digital means. low level signals ie, RCA are the same on crappy and most expensive HUs. tone circuits are what differs in hardware and therefore will have impact in the final stock sound quality. nowadays, filters that are very costly to implement in hardware circuits, op amps, resistors, high Q capacitors etc, can be emulated now in digital. so DSP is your saviour for cost effective solution. you can buy an all in one DSP + amplifier + plug and play harnesses to soup up stock head unit to tailor your own sound. you will be surprised because software approach is getting more sophisticated and can easily rival what was implemented in very costly hardware upgrade on HUs, seps, amplifiers, stock speakers etc.

sorry DSP is a device or a software solution? if software solution, how do I add in my stock head unit? if DSP is a hardware device, where can I buy and around how much?

DSP ay separate device. Usually mas mahal sa head unit. Kung gusto mo ma preserve yung stock functionalities (steering wheel control, etc), go for dsp.

Kung ako, get the best head unit you can afford.

Usually kasi yung mga stock na head unit ay tuned para sa stock speakers. Kung mag upgrade ka ng speakers, baka mas pangit pa yung sound.

Sa case ko, sabay yung head unit and separates. Dramatic improvement over the stock setup.

To follow na lang yung amp and sub.
