If the battery is rated 40AH and your load is 5 amperes, you will have an 8hours play time before the battery is totally discharged. To be safe, you can have a playtime of 4 hours to reserve enough AH to start the engine. Remaining available Ampere-Hour rating of the battery decreases as it becomes older.
Battery is considered totally discharged if the terminal voltage falls down to 10.5 Volts.

Basically the biggest difference is that a Deep Cycle Battery is designed to withstand several hundred Discharge/Recharge Cycles that a Normal Lead-Acid can't do.
I wouldn't recommend listening to the radio with your engine off using a normal battery, it would be a hassle not being able to start your car even tho you have jumper cables. Well if your battery is still under warranty you could always call up motolite and have them deliver a warranty replacement or a new battery

Say you want to use your car setup like a open trunk party or picnic while engine is off.. can you use a portable 12V battery charger and charge your battery? of course the portable charger need 220V supply. Will it work? it wont damage any electrical component of the car? TIA
