I bought a 200 watt version at DIY for 3,500 last year at the height of the Millenio Typhoon. Worked very well to charge my handphones and notebook computer during the 5 day brownout. Got carried away though and plugged in a small tv set shorting out my fuse sa escape.

September 17th, 2007 05:26 PM #12Boybi, those small inverters usually have very low watt capability.
In my own experience go for 300w - i can use it for my laptop and celphone charger at the same time (merun ako dati na 2 ang outlet220v and 1 outlet na 110v) and the other unit (from alaxan) ay nilagyan ko lang ng octopus connector para pedeng 3 devices ang pede kong i-plug.
Price range P2500-3500
CDR-King is also selling one with 100w, 300w at 500w models. Price is much cheaper...yung 500w nila parang P3500 yata. Pero I haven't tried it yet.

Input: 100-240V 50-60Hz 1.6A
Output: 18.5V 3.5A
Ilang watts ang requirement nito?

September 17th, 2007 06:22 PM #14if I remember it correctly P=IV, where P is the power in watts, I Amprere rating and V is voltage (hindi ako sure dito) pero lalabas it would be 160-384watts.
It may or may not work for your laptop...pero sa celphone charger ubra yan.

September 17th, 2007 06:57 PM #18if you want a power supply for your laptop that you can just plug into you ciggaret lighter outlet.. there are some available for less than 1000 pesos.. unfortunately its only for laptops.. anyways i would think it would be alot cheaper to buy a inverter at Raon...

September 17th, 2007 07:04 PM #1918.5 x 3.5 = 64.75 watts
with typical adaptor efficiency at 80%, your laptop would require some 80 watts of AC power ... a 100 watt inverter should be sufficient and a 300 watter should have no problem
just be carefull using the lighter socket as this is usually protected by a 15A fuse, which means you can only extract at most 12 x 15 = 180 watts from it

as above, if you want to go OEM-style, get a "spare tyre lock". but i use an ordinary cheap...
