What's the importance of having High Output Pre-Outs? Does an external high powered amplifier compensate for a lowish Pre-Out voltage of say, 1 volt? Why the need to have a 4-volt++ Pre-Out?

High output voltage means the power amplifier does not have to work so hard to produce sufficient gain to give high volume levels. As a result, even a low gain power amplifier can be used, giving excellent sound quality with low noise.

ssalloon, wala ba problem kung old amplifier (e.g. RF 200ix; wala pa yata 4V input impedance nun) kabit sa Pioneer HU 8650(6v pre-out)? Para kasing sa theory me problem. Sori, rusty na EE101 ko. TIA.

Go for it bro! Most probably all you need to do is set your RF's gain settings near the minimum.... enjoy!
