^ The stereo I beleive will breakdown soon.

Since my guess is that your 2 Ohm speaker would have a higher RMS rating than your stereo anyway...why don't you buy a small bridgeable amplifier to give that speaker some power. Usually car stereos only have 25W RMS per channel...so an amplifier would make a difference.

Yes most probably the stereo will give out first.

Puwersado ang amplifier mo. At certain level of output power, baka bumigay ang mga power IC's or transistors due to high output current.
Assuming the maximum output power of your amplifier is 100Watts * 4 ohms impedance.

    Using 4 ohms speaker,
    I current^2 = Power/Impedance = 100/4
    I current = 25^1/2 = 5 amps.

    Using 2 ohms speaker,
    I current^2 = Power/Impedance = 100/2
    I current = 50^1/2 = 7.07 amps.

With the above comparison, your amplifier will be driven by 7 amps against 5 amps. As a compromise, limit your volume at 50% only.

i agree, mago-overheat ang amp mo if you set it up that way. . .for maximum power transfer, the output impedance of the source should be equal to that of the load. . .pwedeng mas mataas ang input impedance ng speaker than the amp but not the other way around because of the effect as mentioned above. . .

sabi nga ni meledson, you can connect 2 2-ohm speakers in series (not parallel, magiging 1 ohm ang total impedance nyon. . .reverse effect) to solve it or you can use an "impedance-matching adapter" (tanong ka sa raon). . .

    peace of christ!
