Used to have a 1988 325e with the 2.7L I6. Not much horsepower(120) but torque (175 lbft)was nice to have, even beat a couple of late 80's early 90's Camaro with the with the 305 V8. Fastest I went was 125mph before running out of road. Handles nice but interior wasn't very spacious, but I would love to have the E30 M3 with the sweet 2.3L I4 engine.

Probably my favorite series (alongside the 2002). The newer ones just don't do it for me. As redorange said, the hp numbers don't look impressive but torque is up there and is super flat...which is what wins races.....
