remember ng sabihin nila na mahal maintenance ng bmw magiging double ito pag galing sa subic at cebu ang unit mo. why? wala kang history ng vehicle kaya more often than not madaming bibigay diyan at magdudusa ka sa presyo at kung hindi locally sold malamang mahirap din parts niyan. isa pa local casas will charge an additional 20% sa bill mo including parts and labor dahil imported yung vehicle mo. mas mababa nga price of acquisition mo pero sa huli talo ka din. baka imbes na maenjoy mo yung BMW matrauma ka pa.
my advise get a locally purchased pre-owned bmw vehicle kung maafford mo yung certified ng BMW mas maganda at may warranty pa yon.

They're ok if you know your way around Bimmers. But if you are going to pay someone for every squeak and rattle you hear, probably not worth it.
If you're familiar with third-party BMW service providers (non-casa), much better. Some of these import units are fitted with parts/options that were never available locally and this may be the only way to get the Bimmer in the model/configuration you want.
Kahit naman local units minsan 'sinungaling' din ang history nila or balasubas ang previous owners. May element of risk talaga kapag used cars kahit saan pa galing iyan kaya dapat magaling ka sumugal.
Get one within your budget and within your mechanical abilities.

modern bimmers 99-up yung key na ang gagamitin to get the car history. lahat ng services done, replaced parts etc. etc. when buying local bimmers itanong mo kung casa maintained sigurado ka. pero others di na sa casa nagpapagawa kasi nga magastos kaya sugal pa din. pero i personally wouldn't get imported bmw na never na release dito sa atin kasi sigurado patay ka sa parts niyan.

The problem is even some local dealerships are corrupt. Pangmerienda lang, 'malinis' na record mo.
Yung 316i na inalok sa amin dati, complete service records iyon kahit alam ko kung saang Shell station ginagawa ang mga change oil niya (kakilala namin previous owner). Binayaran lang ng previous owner ang BMW service to have complete logs and markings on the service booklet and computer. Though if you look at the condition of the unit, mas makinis pa kaysa sa ibang 'casa maintained'.
If ever we got that E36 (a brand new Sentra was acquired instead) malamang hindi din makakatuntong ng casa iyon sa amin.

Didin't even bother to verify and just walked away.

May 13th, 2008 10:01 AM #38Sir you don't have to suffer that way and I don't think you have to sell your 323 either if you love it. Power window motors do not usually break down but the switches lang most of the time.
Sir check out Autosport along Pasong Tamo ext. and you will be in good hands. They specialize in BMW and MB's (though they will service even your ferrari or any euro) without the casa price. They will not ask you to replace what is not broken or worn out. In short honest si Nadji. He also has some parts available if the need arises. This is where "casa hopeless cases" are brought.

Dati a long time ago I was contemplating of buying a used 316i and the price as low like P350,000 lang ata for the 1996 model. Pero napaisip nga ako sa maintenance at di ko na tinuloy and opted for the Japanese econobox...
