I would go with the OEM's as well. Just like bm5er and JCsE46 said, you might wind up replacing them in the near future... Doble pa gastos.

June 23rd, 2005 02:50 PM #212josh,
yup, we had a corolla gli before and quarterly service amount to about the same as the bimmer once a year.
25 to 30k lang AC replacement sa Euro Motors or AutoVec.
Not sure about which sensors you refer to...
There are special fixes though that comes out say, when you change into 18" wheels. You have got to get sports suspension (springs and shocks) installed first, then reckon with yearly replacements of bushings, tie rods and the like. It's the cost of better handling, performance and porma. This is true with any car, and am not sure how much the cost for non-euro cars. If you get the M-sport models, then they have sports suspension as OEM so you don't have to worry much.
My taiwan-made german-branded lights are ok so far, no leaks, fits well. My old oem ones even broke at the corners when i took them off, probably because they are old na.

the repair bill is piling up with my 2001 e46. only 50,000 miles and i've had to do the following :
sunshade on the moonroof broke a clip and went off-track
leather seats fell apart and had to be restitched
door moldings fell off and had to be replaced three times (!)
replace brakes
replace camshaft sensor
replace fried battery
plus i had to replace all 4 tires as part of regular maintenance, marker bulbs all around, and the wipers twice.
