February 14th, 2012 11:06 PM #91B plate or whatever, at the end of the day, the owner is trying to restore or maintain a Euro. The older the car, the better. You are investing in a racing pedigree, or a car that made history for the brand or was a technology breakthrough during its time. I have Japanese vehicles, but I prefer driving a Euro anytime. Sheer driving pleasure.

this guy has some serious insecurity issues....
Driving pleasure is just one aspect of car ownership. Maybe the guy prefers his japanese car because of its value for money and reliabilty. its funny that you report that your GF "does not know anything about cars" but you then cite her as an expert in reiterating that your project car ( which i have no idea how old/road worthy/model) is "more fun to drive than a new CRV or Civic". its like a blind man saying that he prefers the color blue to color black.... funny guy indeed

April 12th, 2012 02:07 AM #93Hi BMW owners,
I'm thinking of getting a late 90s BMW 320i E36, my usual SOP is to get all the belts changed, change oil, and a tune up, after the usual inspection of the under chassis and all.
Thus I'd like to know:
1. How much will it cost me to have the timing chain and auxiliary belts changed?
2. Change oil and tune up?
Ballpark figures are ok, thanks!

April 20th, 2012 02:01 PM #95I suggest you change all the fluids and not just the oil. For those, you can call Topspeed or ARC Automotive.

April 21st, 2012 01:51 PM #96i was reacting to the previous post na nahihiya DAW tumabi ang mga jap cars sa euro cars incase you're not reading. kung ganyan nalang buhay ng tao puro FUN to drive then euro car it is. i own a euro car also but maybe not as fortunate as you 'cos in my world hanap-buhay muna before racing-racing all day, everyday.
