Recommend a Paint Shop for my Car (with Pix)

Hi mga gurus,

I had my car scratched by a motorcycle.
Mahabang istorya eh. Pero the usual case is dahil sa mga motor na sumisingit pag bumper to bumper traffic.

Eto ung Pictures.

Closer view

The scratch on the left panel is quite deep. Na-chip ung paint layer and
na-exposed ung primer. Ung sa right panel naman, mababaw lang.

Saan kaya maganda ipagawa to. Mahirap pa man din habulin ung kulay ng Superior Red na Santa Fe.

sa casa nyo na lang po ipasok sir... at least di na sila mahihirapan i match yung color since kabisado na nila yon. just my 2 cents

Hmm, I won't go with this one gawa ng panay subcon lang din ang mga nandun. Tapos pag di pa pumasa sa color-matching, pag binalik ang dadalihin ung mga ibang panels ng sasakyan para lang matanggap. For example, yang likod mo lang nadali. Gagawin nila, pag di pumasa sa QA at di match ang kulay sa body part, papaulit. Ung mga subcon na mautak, imbis na pinturahan uli ung parteng yun, gagawin nila pipinturahan na lang din ung mga katabing panels para lang bumagay. In the end, pantay na nga ung color, pero ung buong likod ng sasakyan mo e iba pa rin ang color sa harap. Color mapped din.

If I were you I'd just bring it to a reputable paint shop like the wet look. Or, if you can live with those scratches, you can just let it accumulate muna (knowing Philippine roads these days) and pag marami-rami na e pahilamusan na lang. That way wala kang problema with color matching.

depende rin yan sa dealership... my ride had a small chip sa bumper when we got it... binalik namin sa casa... luckily, kuhang kuha naman yung kulay... parang walang nangyari... try to ask from other SF owners na lang kung saang dealership ang me positive feedback regarding repainting.

This is just a very minor scratch and a good paint shop can remedy this.
Sa Casa mas-mahal pa ang magagastos ko compared sa labas.

First option ko is hanap muna ng Paint Shop na makakaremedy nito.
Pag wala, Casa na bagsak ko.

it's your call... no matter how small the scratch is... you'll probably end up paying almost the same as casas charge... per panel kasi ang pag estimate eh.

Thanks sa advice.
50/50 ako kung Casa or Outside Paint shop.

Will definitely consider your inputs.

i'd still go for a reputable paint shop instead of having it done sa casa. anytime.

based on your pics, the deep one's contained within a small panel. so pag pintura nyan, the whole panel goes. (buti na lang hindi inabot ang ilaw)

with regards to color matching, a little research on what brand of paint (body color & Top coat) is used on a Sta. Fe goes a long way. helps a lot too in the long run because I'm quite certain that won't be your last scratch on your vehicle.

i've experienced color matching w/ casa and outside paint shops, well sa ford kasi ala problem, yun na iyun ang kulay, im not sure about hyundai nga lang pero malamang they can easily match that color, taga nga lang sa price.

outside paint shops, inaalam nila yung year, model at color name ng car para daw makuha yung code color for the exact match of the paint pero lagi palpak, either too bright or too dark nakukuha nila. tas eto pa nakita ko difference nung i got my car back, sa casa makinis yung buong body pero sa paint shops magaspang, i guess yun yung paint na lumipad sa hangin tas bumagsak sa paint ng kotse ko. overall i still prefer outside shops for spot repairs kasi im on a tight budget, pagtyagaan ko na lng muna yung small paint particles na lumipad sa paint job ko
