Hehe... if I ever get my CF hood, if it's locally made, I'd prefer to paint it body color than leave that messy and uneven weave out there for all to see.
You should only leave carbon fiber naked if the weave is good. A messy weave just isn't nice, no matter how expensive the fabric is. And with everyone and his brother now dabbling in carbon fiber, it's starting to become very common.
The best naked carbon fiber is on a Pagani Zonda... their weave is terrifically even and always perfect.
