    Yes it will take reduce your clear coat, so it boils down to what you use and how you use it, they are much alike and also different, they differ in the sense that scratch remover is much more aggressive and its formulate to remove deeper scratches compared to swirlX and its also for spot defect correction, swirlX on the other hand has a long work time because its meant to remove lighter scratches and swirls on the entire car.
