Loss the Gloss of paint and another thing..

Ola Guys,

just want to share:
1 part of the panel of my car has been rubbed with rubbing compound, and after a day, I have washed my car, and Noticed that the part where the Compound was placed, has lossed its gloss? how come? and how can I return back its glossiness? parang nawala ung clear top coat? parang lang? not so sure...

and another thing,
bad3p yung autopaint shop na pinagpagawaan ko, dinikitan ng double adhesive ung hood ko then, nung niwash ko lg napancn, ang hirap tanggalin, ung mga maliliit na parts kaya ng Car shampoo + 3M na MF, pero ung makakapal na adhesives na naiwan ang hirap tanggalin... any suggestions on how? pero the shop have offered na issabay na sa pag Buff ng pinagawa ko ung part na:

1. Nawalan ng gloss - babalik kaya ung kintab nya?
2. ung may adhesives na naiwan,

Anong rubbing compound ginamit mo? Baka masyado aggressive yan kaya kinain na yung clear coat. At bakit mo pala ginamit yung rubbing compound sa panel na yon?

Maybe you can take a pic of it in good lighting (in the shade but with bright sunlight outside the shade). You should also wipe off excess compound you use baka naman hindi mo natanggal magmumukhang magaspang nga yan.

As for the adhesives, if it's the sort of adhesive na pang car emblem talagang madikit yan. Be careful if you dare remove it, baka masira lang surrounding paint.

Ipagawa mo na lang sa shop since they offered to fix it anyway. I could tell you how to polish it back pero mahirap without really seeing what's wrong baka mali pa masabi ko. Your best bet is to just have a professional look at it - Big Bert's comes to mind.

buenos diaz! i suppose you present the problem back to the car shop. if buffing alone cant do the job then its their responsibility to fix it again considering its newly painted. i wonder for what reason they sticked a double adhesive on your ride but u can try a soft cloth wet in kerosene to gently remove it.better yet let them do that too. if your that disappointed with that shop, then its your decision to seek a more expert people to get the job done. muy bien!

mahirap picturan hindi kits na hindi sya glossy eh, may kintab pa rin kasi, actually hindi pala parang topcoat ung nawala, nawala lng tlga ung Clear Coat ata? tyka magaspang sya, pag nacompare mo sa ibang part ng kotse

Reason for compound use:
may slight na gasgas dun, ni-offer nila na gamitan nun, kaya pumayag ako...

balik ko na lng asap, para makita nila

use a less abrasive compound like a swirl remover to bring back the shine on the dull spot. it might take a lot of rubbing/buffing, but as long as the clearcoat hasn't been burned through, it should work. tapos tirahin mo ng polish.

Ok na naman bumalik na sya, kaso pag tlgang tinitigan mo tlga ng super super, mapapnsin mo pa rin tlga ang difference, pero all-in-all ok na naman, pero dapat nga singilin ko sila dun eh.

hayz, pero ang sabi pag nagpaWashOver na naman daw ako, malaki na lng daw ang discount ko, MaxMeyer gamit nilang paints, and satisfied ako sa gawa, tamang glossy effect lng, hindi super glossy na parang binuhusan ng mantika,

ang problem na lng tlga is ung nsa hood, nag Iwan ng Whitish mark ung scotch tape na ginamit nila, pero hindi gaanong halata, pero same nung dati, kung mabusisi ka tumingin, mapapansin mo pa rin tlga, parang nagkaAn-An ung hood ko, in 2 diff. points lng naman,

ibalik ko na lng daw ulet for another buffing pag di pa daw ako satisfied,
gamit pala nila is a Swirl remover and a 3m III? final lng naintindihan ko eh, german ata ung language na nakalgay, then todo buffing... after nun, pinacarwash ko, medyo madumi eh,

Ingat talaga kasi sa rubbing compound. Tinamaan ung clear coat mo nyan. Dapat talaga magaling un shop. At me warranty ang gawa.

yung double adhesive ang pinantanggal ko WD40 lang.
