Exterior Detailing

Hello, Im just a newbie pagdting sa car detailing. I got a Lancer 1.6 GLS which I bought last year. Medyo madami na kasi siyang light scratches, tanong ko lang kung okay lang ba ipa-exterior detailing yung kotse ko?

Dun kasi sa tinanungan ko, may step 1,2 and 3 daw and it cost 1,700k. Okay lang ba ipadetail yung kotse kahit medyo bago pa? Worthed ba yung price. Sabi nila i-rubbing,buffing , tapos tatanggalin yung mga asphalt na dumikit na sa kotse.

Wala kasi talaga ako alam kundi mag drive, and this forum helps me a lot to know things about cars. Hope you can help me on my simple question.

Mas makakatipid ka po ang magkakaroon ka ng bonding sa kotse. Lalawak din ang knowledge mo tungkol sa detaling at kung papaano maiimaintain ng maayos ang kotse.


Tips lang po.

Step 1 - Cleaners po yung ginagawa dito. Tinatanggal ang contaminants sa paint.

Step 2 - Dito yung mga polishers na pampakintab at sealers na nagtatago ng swirl marks.

Step 3 - Ito po yung protection stage na waxing.

Ang rubbing po, nakakaubos ng clear coat kapag laging ginagawa.

Mas maganda nga kung Do it Yourself. Bukod sa makakatipid ka maaalagan mo pa sasakyan mo walang katapusang pagayos sa sasakyan mo para mapanatili mong malinis at maganda sasakyan mo .Kahit bago pagmarumi hindi magandang tignan . Bago ka pa lang pero matututo ka rin mahirap din na marunong ka lang magmaneho pag huminto sasakyan mo kailangan marunong ka rin mag trouble shoot kahit palit man lang ng gulong kung ma flat tire ka. Basahin mo na lang iyong mga thread dito para sa exterior detailing .GOODLUCK

The steps refer to 1)compounding; 2)polishing; 3)final polishing/jeweling. The number of steps needed depends on how bad the condition of your paint is, how hard or soft your paint is, and what level of correction you want. On badly swirled and scratched paint, you'll probably need to compound to remove the deeper scratches; on harder paints, you might not need to do a jeweling step, while this can be a necessity on softer paints; and if you're ok with leaving the deeper imperfections, you can perhaps skip the compounding step.

Now, the process of removing scratches means that you abrade the paint to the level of the scratch; so yes, having your car compounded or polished too often will, over time, remove sufficient clear to cause clear coat failure. The ideal situation is to compound once, then use proper wash technique and good waxes/sealants to maintain the paint in good condition; if you wash correctly, you will not need anything more than a polish every now and then (annually, or even longer intervals) to keep the paint looking good.
