*mj09: well honestly with that budget i would advise you to just wait for the tire cream from Bigberts. I was actually in the Araneta branch last Monday also planning on getting another tub and yes they are still out of stock, if you could wait a few more days then just wait for the Tire Cream. Actually even if you up the budget by up to 1k where you can afford the Megs all season dressing i would still recommend you go with the tire cream since its a lot more economical. You could try Megs and Mothers Tire shine and sprays but they cost around 400 to 600 already so its already a bit more expensive and the tire creams results are still better especially in terms of durability.

*SG: its actually pretty hard to add that wet look and depth in light colored cars, i've only got good results with some imported waxes so the next best thing to do with lighter colored cars is to improve gloss and reflectivity, with these colors and gloss enhancers and polymers are good so basically its sealants and synthetic waxes that give that big plus in terms of looks when it comes to lighter colored cars.

The 845 would still look good on light colored cars but there are others, even cheaper waxes that would look better on lighter colored cars, sadly 845 and Topcoat gives a look of deep wet shine that is not much noticeable on light colored cars. For light colored cars i would recommend Mothers FX since it gives a very clean crisp shine, much like looking into a mirror and it still has enough wetness in its look. Another suggestion for lighter colored cars would be Collinite Liquid Sapphire Auto Wax, its like the 845 for light colored cars, this one gives a nice wet look but not as reflective as the Mothers FX, i believe my friend which happens to be the local distributor of Collinite in the Philippines carries this so wherever you got your 845 ask if they have the Liquid Sapphire Wax they should be able to get you one. Megs #26 High Tech Yellow wax is also good for light colored cars pretty much like Moms Step 3

And yes if you search around the forums its like more people prefer Reflections for Dark and FX for light colored cars, i've seen photo's submitted by people using FX that got great results even on a silver paint. And i myself can attest that it really is good for light colored cars, it can even make silver look wet which is a bit hard for some waxes in my experience.

*Lanchong: you could apply it immediately after removing Step 2, but for this i would recommend you apply the whole car with Step 2 then remove Step 2 from the whole car before you apply Step 3 on the portion where you first started removing Step 2, this way you give it enough time like 15 to 30 minutes to completely dry making Step 3 bond properly to the paint, its just a sort of being doubly sure without wasting time.

*jozep: Thats a tough one, Lets just say that 476 provides better protection but lasts a month or two shorter and Long Life Sealant lasts longer but offers less protection. 476 is actually better for me during rainy season and Long Life Sealant for dry seasons like nowadays. But overall i would say Long Life Sealant Lasts longer and it definitely has a better shine. But of course nothing beats Nano Systematic Care + Long Life Sealant + 476 hehehe.

madkatz: si Jerome yung local distributor ng Collinite. taga TeamFD sya. sinabi nga nya sa akin na yung liquid sapphire maganda para sa light colored cars.

mas matagal yung protection ng 845 & sapphire than Megs #26 diba?

at pang machine buffer lang ata yung Megs #26

    so..... 845 nalang?

*SG: yup its Jerome, my BF knows him quite well, before we even used to have our Collinite imported. And Liquid Sapphire really looks nice on light colored cars even on white hehe, Collinite 850 Metal wax is also great on wheels, both liquid sapphire and metal wax are two of the unpopular but great products collinite has. 850 is even better than wheel wax and i've tried it on a stained wheel it does clean metal works quite well as well as protect it, you would appreciate 850 especially on rainy days. Im happy you also know jerome, great guy huh?

As for the #26, it could be hand applied, but a little thick to apply by hand but i found that hand application lasts longer than machine applied when it comes to #26. And yeah both collinite 845 and liquid sapphire lasts longer then #26, but then again #26 is a lot cheaper and its good enough protection if you wax weekly. Its the Megs #66 Quick Detailer that is better suited for machine application, even though it can also be applied by hand you get more shine out of machine application since its a cleaner wax.

If you ask me, if you have more light colored cars i would just get Liquid Sapphire and let Reflections take care of the dark colored cars. But if its between #26 and 845, i'll definitely choose 845.

    thanks for the reply.
probably systematic care + long life sealant first, ok din po ba kung megs#26 muna instead of 476?
tapos in-between washes, ok lang ba yun megs ultimate QD?
I'll be using it for a light colored car nga po pala.

*jozep: yeah you could use #26, don't get me wrong when i say that IMO 845 is better it doesn't mean #26 is bad, its actually really good, and for the price its well worth it. Any wax layered on top of Long Life Sealant will add to its protection. If you would be using #26 then i would recommend you apply wax every month, because with 476 you could go for as long as 2 to 3 months without re-applying, but if you are able to apply monthly then you don't even need to go for 476, actually right now im saving some of my imported waxes to do a test of which waxes perform better sorted by category so im using Moms Step 3 and Megs #26 monthly since i have gallons of them and they are great!

Wow Megs UQD? well its ok if you have it already, but if you are about to buy it, i would suggest you go with UQW since it can already pass for a wax in terms of durability even if its a spray wax, well if its durability you are after.

If you are using UQD for maintaining the gloss, since you'll be using it on a light colored car i would recommend you just get Moms Showtime since it looks better on light colored cars, UQD sort of gives paint a temporary dark and deep gloss.

And if you are after water beading, well its not really the right time to use UQD since its scorching hot hehe, you would get great results with UQD during rainy season, my niece and nephews actually enjoy putting water on my car and they love how water doesn't cling to the paint hahaha.

Overall its really up to you if want to use UQD but for me i would use it only when i can maximize its potential, but UQD is a really good QD its just expensive hehehe.

*madkatz - thanks for the reply. so many options, very limited budget.
actually, i haven't bought an ultimate qd yet, but i still have moms showtime that came with the claybar kit.
I still don't have the budget to buy both carlack sys. care & long life sealant at the same time, would it be ok if i first buy sys. care and apply long life sealant after a month?

*jozep: you could apply NSC and then just re-apply it after 1 month but this time with the LLS after. You could even just get a 40 peso sachet of 3m liquid wax and apply it to your car while saving for NSC and LLS, thats my best go to wax when people are saving up for a good wax. its cheap at 40 pesos and if you know how to apply thin one sachet could even get you 2 applications hehe.

*jmpet626: i read from the other thread that you are practicing fine swirl removal, which pads are you currently using? and what polish are you using? try to post some before and after pics hehe. So far White LC + Power Polish or Megs 82 works great for me and they can also be used to burnish the paint to a high gloss.

Hi. It's good you took the plunge.

Before I humbly suggest that you use an LC orange pad with the XMT#2, could you first describe:

    - the size of your work area,
    - the speed of the polisher,
    - your hand/arm speed,
    - how much product did you place on the pad,
    - how you pushed the polisher on the paint, and
    - how long the polish was worked on the paint?

    Thanks.

-Yung hood ng Jazz 09 hinati ko into 2 sections.
    - Speed is set to 5
    - Slow over lapping passes.
    - 1 peso sized drop per section
    - medium pressure (not sure kung enough)
    - Around 4 to 5 mins per section

*jmpet626: hmm as of how AG rates it, XMT #2 has the same cut as Mothers Power Polish, and when i've used Power Polish with the white pad it did also leave me with some swirls, i was only able to tackle the swirls when i used the orange pad with the Power Polish and i also noticed that you might have to work the product a little longer to completely remove the swirls. So i guess using the orange pad would also make sense since it has more cut. What green pad did you use? the softer or the coarse? Because i think if you have the green polishing/finishing pad its correct that you use S&G with this, but if you have the normal green pad, its actually more agressive than the white pad. So it would be green coarse with XMT and white with S&G or your correct with white with XMT and green finishing with S&G.
