March 2nd, 2013 07:12 PM #15Natuklap yung clearcoat sa (2008 Habanero Red) Civic FD ko. Parang naging brittle yung clearcoat and natuklap. Which I find weird, first time akong nakakita ng ganun (not that I'm an expert). Been driving a Toyota before (6 years). Common problem ba to sa FD or Honda cars?
Yung area na natuklap ay sa passenger door bandang taas malapit sa edge ng katabing front door. Around 2in square ang area na natuklap. I looked around and saw other parts on the door edge na medyo natuklap na din. Second hand na yung FD so hindi ako alam yung full history ng paint ng sasakyan.
Ano pwedeng gawin to fix this. I'm afraid na baka magtuloy-tuloy na yung pagkatuklap. Ok naman yung underlying paint, no scratches or dents. Pwede bang ire-apply lang ang clearcoat? I've read some posts about spray-on clearcoat (pylox?). Advisable ba to for DIY use sa case na to. Or dalhin ko na lang sa paintshop yung sasakyan?
Would appreciate your comments.
