wow, so much has changed na pala, so for example, I can't just go to the auto supply and say headlight ng 2020 vios? But all headlights of 2020 Vios are the same naman So the shops are just doing that to eliminate errors pero technically pwede naman na walang chassis number?
Last time ko kasi nagpagawa ng car outside the casa was in the late 2000s pa and I never had to provide chassis number when buying parts.

Think of it like this Cathy, the headlight costs about 2.5k based on Lazada hi ace prices plus 3.5 k - 6k as some have posted, ergo, around 6k - 8.5k. Assuming 6k at mapiga mo pa sa 4k with a lot of haggling sa repair shop and other efforts related to bring the cost down, di ba mas madali to just pay the other party 8k and make sign a waiver? Better to just haggle down the 8k just for the sake of haggling kaysa magpagod pa otherwise? [emoji848]

He was asking P20k sa friend ko but she is haggling to P15k, for me that's still too much kasi kung sa body repair sa kabilang thread nasa P3k to P7k, and headlight is P2.5k to P6k, using the highest estimate P13k lang total.
I find it magulang to ask for P20k Ewan ko ba yung driver niya in broad daylight pa inatrasan yung Grandia [emoji15]
BTW, isa lang ba papaltan or both sa headlight? Kasi he wants original daw (don't blame him)

September 17th, 2022 09:51 PM #25Sa akin, sabihin na natin 15k talaga sarado makuha yung cost to repair and repaint bumper plus headlight replacement as best case.
Kung mahaggle nga to 15k, great.
Pero kung ayaw bumaba sa 20k php you cant say patigasan kasi hindi din magic ang pagrepair. Repaint and repair of bumper, kung swertehin at least 4 days kasama na drying time. 4 days na wala yung kotse nung nabangga nung friend mo.
As it stands, siya yung nakabangga not the other way around, hence siya nakainconvenience ng ibang tao.
So yung 5k, pwede na lang din tanggapin kung di pumayag to haggle down.

Original headlights would cost 10T or more ... below that, it's mostly replacement or OEM ...

September 17th, 2022 10:18 PM #27when i purchased a part from the casa,
they inquired for the plate number, because i did not want to go out and get the xerox of the ORCR for the car's ID numbers.
voila!
lumabas sa computer nila the original owner (my sisinlo).
they ask for the chassis number, because sometimes car owners give honest but erroneous information.
they will say 2012 model, when in fact ay 2011 pala. the designs might have undergone minor changes.
yes, the erroneous part can be returned and replaced for the correct part, but why go thru the hassle kung puede namang hindi magkamali the first time...
it is also a way of ... detecting ... somewhat... stolen cars.
but i am asking,
why not let the car insurance provider take care of it?
btw,
pag pinalitan ang piyeza, hingin ninyo yung piyezang pinalitan. it might be worth a few hundred bucks... that is, kung pinalitan nga.

My friend wants to know lang kasi if the Grandia owner is being fair, pressured pa ko because she knows I'm active in a car group
Sa lahat kasi ng bumangga sakin I just take what they can offer me. May isa na walang license and yet refused to pay me kahit siya yung mali at naka blotter (inatrasan ako sa parking) My Kuya said to let it go, not worth the headache.
For one headlight or a pair? if that's the case pwede na pala yung P15k. The owner wants an original headlight and I don't blame him.
My friend does not have compre and I assume the same for the Grandia. Ang usapan she'll just give the cash and that's the end of it.

September 17th, 2022 10:41 PM #29Ako din. If nabangga ako, may compre usually so picture picture ko lang, get the other persons details or cr and license etc and i leave na. Dont bother waiting for police report and just make the affidavit for insurance. Less hassle pa.
Sa walang insurance, also dont bother asking the erring party if hindi major damage naman.
Pero yung sa grandia, may basag talaga yung headlight and the bumper is a little bad. Kaya siguro mahila yan some but masilya yan to return to 'form'. I see that as a bumper replacement pa nga and not just repair kung magpipilit kabilang party.
Headlight kung orig toyota but surplus or refurb, baka mapababa price. Pero kung brand new orig, mahal talaga yan. Di basta basta price nun kasi buong asembly yan, plus labor pa.

September 18th, 2022 02:45 AM #30Agree. From the thread before the pic was posted akala ko minor scuff lang kaya the discussion was only about repaint, but that corner is definitely pushed in.
If I owned the Hi Ace I wouldn't accept na push out+masilya and repaint lang, I'd ask for a new bumper and headlight.
interesting. dark horse, if i may say so. as an aside, i loosely follow caco tirona. and it is...
