August 8th, 2010 04:13 PM #117Most likely I think.
At 600k, with additional cash, you can easily buy a brand new Mitsu FB (with aircon). Or a second hand 2006 Mitsu Adventure GLX.
Me thinks hypothetically, Pinoys might gamble with a Pinoy AUV if its backed by foreign vehicle makers (the late " Nissan Bida" and Ford Cimarron) or a Pinoy brand with strong tie-up with a foreign manufacturer like FMC's AnFRA (with Mazda parts. Note: FMC does not exist anymore I think. )..
Or rebadge foreign vehicles ( Japanese minivans rebadge as "Rusco" or Norkis).
An independent Pinoy assembler (with no foreign tie-up), unfortunately, will not succeed.
My suggestion is that the proponents of the Pinoy AUV should lure foreign vehicle manufacturers to agree in a joint venture..

August 8th, 2010 04:27 PM #119Yes, its a well conceived design.
Im not sure if there will be a local manufacturer capable or willing to produce it.
Especially, if this vehicle will end up with a price almost similar with popular Japanese models like the Mitsu Adventure (AUV), Isuzu Crosswind (AUV) and Toyota Innova.
Anyway, nice design.

Here's a question: why should a foreign vehicle manufacturer freely agree to consider to design and build a "pinoy" AUV when they have their own stuff ready to sell?
Their own vehicles would already have had all the R&D behind it and probably has been sold in other countries. Advantage of large scale production & assembly would mean it would be cheaper than making a "pinoy" AUV while only has a market of a few hundred units per year at best.
that may be, but we all got plastic, young and old. we asked the lto guy, "papel ba po, o...
