So JPDM, when you will be building your 100% "PINOY" car?
Do what you preach, right?

Im not preaching that we build a 100% Pinoy Car, GHOSTHUNTER.. You may back read all my posts.
Example:
...As you can see, Im only for the revival of the local auto industry. Or at most, reduce to a minimum our over dependence on imports (imported spareparts and vehicles).
The Thailand model seems to be the most practical for us to follow where the government will give incentives to all vehicle companies not just to assemble but to manufacture parts and completely built up units as well....
I am only advocating for the return of manufacturing here. And it doesnt matter if the Japanese, American, Korean and Chinese will do it for us (like in Thailand and Taiwan). But of course, I also want to see Pinoys competing side by side or complementing them by supplying the spare parts......

you didnt realize hes being sarcastic that last post of him.. hehe...
hindi dahil dead serious nakalagay its true....
try handing him a sniper rifle.. hehe
conclusion: were not going to have a filipino built engine/ phuv..
my suggestion: we may not have our own engines/technology.. but i know filipinos are good modders.. baka may mabuo kayo... one-off vehicle na eye stunning talaga... kahit corolla lang sa ilalim... like that guy from bangladesh.. hehe that would be somewhat cool...
but i meant maganda talaga ha... better than what that bangladeshi does... kasi tingin ko his products are not that good(we might find someone here do a better job)... and ofcourse way way better than atoy creations.... hehe nakita ko atoy creation... yung hatch na topdown na mukhang palakang kalbo... hehehe... its creative but its not in anyway spectacular... proud na proud mayari.. i think little bro ng maker.. hehe.

Pero malay natin pag wala na tayo sa mundong ito, sa future dun makagawa Pinoy..
Agree with your statements.
Actually ok lang kung borrowed technology. Dun na lang magsimula. of course, purely academic ito. Unless, a pinoy corporation with take this seriously which Columbian Motors attempted to do in the past by buying and using an "old and ordinary" German engine design...(of course during the heydays of Columbian Autocars of Elena LIm and Alvarez, assembling the best selling kia pride and the heydays of the so-called Pinoy AUVs)Last edited by jpdm; December 24th, 2009 at 10:03 PM.

December 25th, 2009 05:14 AM #1266The question I have in mind here is: Do we really have to build our own Philippine Car? For What? For our own "national" ego? This country has already missed the boat, due to greedy/selfish leaders, poor governance and a damaged culture which was never rectified....
With the country's wealth held by a few people or families (caciques), and the central tendency of the rich to be "risk averse", probably a handful of them could be considered industrialists who would invest their money on manufacturing technologies. They would rather start with joint-ventures with established industry players in the world (to mitigate risks). Somehow due to some of the situations I have mentioned above, we never got to spin-off to build our own national industry.

Well, Mahathir of Malaysia built Proton and Perodua for Malaysian ego. Why not?
On the otherhand, we dont need a national car, what we need to build up is our capability to build vehicles, especially "niche" vehicles like PHUV or AUV with as many local parts as possible and the soon to be implemented new MVDP of our BOI has already considered with numerous incentives. Actually, most local car assemblers (Mitsubishi, Toyota, Honda, Isuzu and Ford) and local car parts manufacturers (MVPMAP) support the new program.

Ironically, the in fact invested in certain manufacturing technologies but at a very limited scale. For instance, Ferdinand Torres partnered with Yazaki to produce wiring harness for local use and export. The group Almazora and Juan families for AUV, bus and Truck body manufacturing.
Ayala, Yuchengco, Roxas for local vehicle assembly.
Yung nga lang hanngagang dun lang no real full manufacturing of vehicles like Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia.
For me, it doesnt matter if we build vehciles with foreign technology and foreign capital in joint venture with Pinoys) as long as we build and manufacture it here in the country.

December 25th, 2009 05:02 PM #1269This is a no solution Ghosthunter orjwill justput Philippine Society in oblivion with the lawlessness that it implies...
who are th corrupt?... how do you prove they are corrupt?... etc.
... if you really are thinking of solutions.
Do you have any alternative proposal for a solution since what you propose is either not doable nor really is a solution since bumping some people off does not necessarily mean that they are not replaced if not of the same devious personalities of the same character and may perhaps be even worse.
What's your other alternative solution that is more doable?.

Poch,I hope these Chinese Christians are not among those whom you callreligious morons. These people put their lives where their mouth is. Talk is cheap, especially in countries that allow freedopm of expression and freedom to worship or not to worship. These people have more balls than we have sensitivity. Even if they aremoronic for believing enough to keep bibles in their homes (for which they were summarily executed), they were willing to risk their lives for their faith. Are we willing to give up our lives for our non-faith?Again I say, talk is cheap. If one is willing to die for what he says, thenhis talk has value. And to think that these people weren't sending out emails condemningChinese atheists. They were minding their own business - believing inwhat they wish to believe. The difference is that their atheist stateexecuted them for it.What if our situation were reversed and atheists were shot for nothaving faith? Are there atheists who will be as brave as these moronicChinese Christians? For the third time I say - talk is cheap.Charlie
