you didnt realize hes being sarcastic that last post of him.. hehe...

hindi dahil dead serious nakalagay its true....
try handing him a sniper rifle.. hehe

conclusion: were not going to have a filipino built engine/ phuv..

my suggestion: we may not have our own engines/technology.. but i know filipinos are good modders.. baka may mabuo kayo... one-off vehicle na eye stunning talaga... kahit corolla lang sa ilalim... like that guy from bangladesh.. hehe that would be somewhat cool...

but i meant maganda talaga ha... better than what that bangladeshi does... kasi tingin ko his products are not that good(we might find someone here do a better job)... and ofcourse way way better than atoy creations.... hehe nakita ko atoy creation... yung hatch na topdown na mukhang palakang kalbo... hehehe... its creative but its not in anyway spectacular... proud na proud mayari.. i think little bro ng maker.. hehe.

    Right now, tama ka. Malabo.

Pero malay natin pag wala na tayo sa mundong ito, sa future dun makagawa Pinoy..

    Agree with your statements.

Actually ok lang kung borrowed technology. Dun na lang magsimula. of course, purely academic ito. Unless, a pinoy corporation with take this seriously which Columbian Motors attempted to do in the past by buying and using an "old and ordinary" German engine design...(of course during the heydays of Columbian Autocars of Elena LIm and Alvarez, assembling the best selling kia pride and the heydays of the so-called Pinoy AUVs)

The question I have in mind here is: Do we really have to build our own Philippine Car? For What? For our own "national" ego? This country has already missed the boat, due to greedy/selfish leaders, poor governance and a damaged culture which was never rectified....

With the country's wealth held by a few people or families (caciques), and the central tendency of the rich to be "risk averse", probably a handful of them could be considered industrialists who would invest their money on manufacturing technologies. They would rather start with joint-ventures with established industry players in the world (to mitigate risks). Somehow due to some of the situations I have mentioned above, we never got to spin-off to build our own national industry.

Well, Mahathir of Malaysia built Proton and Perodua for Malaysian ego. Why not?

On the otherhand, we dont need a national car, what we need to build up is our capability to build vehicles, especially "niche" vehicles like PHUV or AUV with as many local parts as possible and the soon to be implemented new MVDP of our BOI has already considered with numerous incentives. Actually, most local car assemblers (Mitsubishi, Toyota, Honda, Isuzu and Ford) and local car parts manufacturers (MVPMAP) support the new program.

Yes, indeed we miss the boat for now, but I think, academically, we can still catch up, albeit in supplying the local needs. I have already posted here in tsikot press releases made y BOI and Mitsubishi regarding potentials of the Philippine market for locally produced vehicles not necessarily 100% Pinoy car.

    Indeed.

Ironically, the in fact invested in certain manufacturing technologies but at a very limited scale. For instance, Ferdinand Torres partnered with Yazaki to produce wiring harness for local use and export. The group Almazora and Juan families for AUV, bus and Truck body manufacturing.

Ayala, Yuchengco, Roxas for local vehicle assembly.

Yung nga lang hanngagang dun lang no real full manufacturing of vehicles like Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia.

For me, it doesnt matter if we build vehciles with foreign technology and foreign capital in joint venture with Pinoys) as long as we build and manufacture it here in the country.
