July 9th, 2010 10:40 AM #13As of now hindi ko pa sya na ipaconvert sa 134, dinala ko na din sa isang aircon shop lapit dito samin, kailangan daw i flush yung system, then new drier & expansion valve. palitan din ng compressor that's 134 refrigerant compatible. wala sya sinabi re o-ring replacement. Nagtanong din ako sa Banawe, replace drier and flushing lang daw eh pwede na lagyan ng 134 ung system, parang may mali so di na ko nagbalik doon.
by the way before ako mag post dito, bagong flush ung aircon system, pati drier, expansion valve, bago din cooling coil ko kasi nabutas ung dati. Malamig ung aircon pag umaandar sa highway pati sa gabi at pag malamig panahon, pero pag natraffic sa edsa ng mga 11am to 3pm na mainit panahon nawawala ng malaki ung lamig. naglagay na ako ng isang aux fan sa harap, halos ganun din, konti lang improvement. compressor n kaya sira nito, sabi kc ng a/c tech ok daw ung freon at compressor.

for optimum performance of your a/c system, use an expansion valve designed for R134a, HBNR o-rings (to prevent leaks), X-7 receiver dryer, PAG 150 ISO lubricant, and maintain an average pressure on the low side at around 27 PSI (32 PSI for R12) when the system has stabilized, at Philippine average ambient temperatures of 80 degrees fahrenheit, your high side pressure should be around 160-190 PSI with a fan blowing into the condenser simulating ram air

nasubukan nyo na po ba gawin ganitong refrigerant mixing sir ? if not sir pls don't recommend such procedure.. deadly and hazardous po kc. mixing R12 and 134a can or may give you a "big bang" sa a/c cooling system.
naka pagtry na po ako (w/ my old Lancer GLXi 91) convert from R12 to 134a. flush the system,replace drier, TXV and did not replace the condenser and compressor. The a/c tech did use oil for R12 for the compressor(dunno the brand of oil) and fill with 134a refrigerant. Same procedure was done last year when i had my a/c cleaned and flushed from another a/c shop. I'm still using OEM compressor and condenser, though I noticed that R12 cooling is somehow better than 134a but quite negligible.

My nabibili namang r-12. 1997 model pataas r-134a na environmental friendly na lahat.. [/SIZE] bago maubos ang ozone layer wala na sigurong gumagamit ng r-12...

also, it seems that you were trying to "mislead" the author of this thread regarding your advise?

September 1st, 2010 08:11 PM #20I just learned from the news today. Cars using R12 refrigerant will be phased out by year 2012 unless it undergoes Non-CFC aircon retrofitting.
