OT ren: kaso this can happen naman regardless of the windows being down or not; driving alone or with company.
para nde OT masyado, question on turning off A/C. ano ba difference ng turning off A/C through A/C button and turning off the fan when it comes to FC? same lang ba effect if ON yung fan but OFF yung compressor compared sa OFF ung both (Fan/Compressor)?
sorry, nde ko talaga alam

January 29th, 2009 09:10 AM #23nagtataka lang ako kasi kakaiba ang dagdag na load ng a/c ko sa makina in such a way na parang dadapa ang makina twing engage ang compressor although bago lahat ng engine supports. e.g. when i am running in 1st gear and the a/c engages, parang dadapa ang makina ko.
i've tried change oil, oil/fuel/air filter, tune up, change all belts. medyo nakakairita rin kasi lalo na pag hindi kabilisan ang takbo. ramdam na ramdam ito 0 - 40 kph
given this case, pwede ko masabi na me effect ang a/c sa gas consumption; however, i know for a fact that there is something wrong because of how it runs. what could be the problem?

Three things.
May oil ba yung compressor sa loob? Has it been maintained properly?
Original R12 ba siya na converted to run R134a? If so compressor will need to run harder to provide the same cooling effect as R12. At tama ba pagkaka charge (not overfill/underfill)?
If older type of compressor then chances are yes malakas ang kain niya ng HP at tataas fuel consumption. Newer compressors mas efficient though still consumes more fuel, of course, when in use.

January 30th, 2009 01:47 PM #25yes, oil is enough. it is original 134 (not converted). 8 years narin ang aircon system (yr 2000). makukuha kaya ito sa linis? sa linis ba required na palitan ang dryer saka expansion valve?

let us be reminded too, that having an accessory too many causes fuel economy to go down. these include big audio video set ups in full blast. our alternators are burdened more filling up a good charge to the battery. and has anyone noticed the slight difference in idling speed when we turn on our headlights, from off to dim to bright? and yes, those roof racks..
