just want to ask what to look for when shopping around for a radiator cap? (aside of course that it should fit).

may nakikita kasi ako na specs sa sticker, although malabo na kasi yung sa akin so i can't read it properly.

    thanks.

    depends bro...
i bought a radiator cap kasi last week, at .9. kala ko papasok sa radiator ko.
nung kinabit ko, ayaw pumasok dahil parang may spring yung ilalim nung rubber. upon inspection, yung OEM rad cap ko pala is walang spring, as in parang rubber seal lang.

    car is lancer 2k.

so i would suggest that if you would buy one, ensure mo muna that it looks like your old rad cap. or if you can afford one, buy OEM para sure fit.

Yung mga generic unbranded rad caps cost about P100. Yung Federal Mogul is around P150. OEM for my Nissan Sentra was P600, kaya lang year 2000 prices pa yun, hehehe

Tsaka lang ako nagpapalit pag worn-out na yung rubber seal or sira na yung spring ng rad cap

Better to buy frm auto supply stores or buy OEM.

Federal Mogul is okay. Madali naman hanapin.

One thing... make sure the new cap holds at least as much pressure as the old one. You can go up to 1.1 from 0.9 bar, to 1.3 from 1.1, but don't go down to 0.9 from 1.1...

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

yun 0.9 and 1.1 or 1.3 are just ratings for the radiator cap. not the size.. so you can have the same size but of higher pressure ratings.

better bring your old one as sample.

oh yeah, i assumed the cap being purchased would be the same one in spring type as the one currently installed.

i also had the same experience today.. i bought a federal mogul radiator cap na .9 bar thinking that it would fit kasi pareho naman .9 as my old one.. when i got home di pala kasya because it has a spring on it.. and nakita ko that my old cap is a RC-106, while the one that i bought is a RC-101..

i looked around and wala ako makita around sa area namin na RC-106.. would you guys know kung saan maraming stocks and sizes ng federal mogul na radiator caps?
