Fake Freon

My Starex airconditioning system went kaput.

Compressor shaft seal(?) is the culprit according to the technician.

According to the store proprietor, there is now a proliferation of "fake freon" that would exactly result to this type of malfunction.

Is this true?

yung mga china made yata.. compressor shaft seal naman ang problem eh baka talagang pasira na yung part

ang sumisira sa shaft seal ay sa tagal narin ng paggamit sa sasakyan normally mga 5years lifespan. shaft seal can hold pressure up to 250PSI, normal freon natin na pang auto r-12 and r-134a ay 100-120psi lang.

I'm not famliar with freon brand. Ang importante tama ang refrigerant e.g. R134.

What I was pointing is the presence of some "impurities" or whatever in some vendors of freon that may have detrimental effect on the compressor particularly the shaft seal. As you all know, such defects (i.e leaking shaft seal) warrants a replacement of the entire compressor which is high ticket item.

The technician i asked asserted that rebuilding the shaft seal won't last long and results in recurring problems.

Now, I'm asking if there are sellers of "substandard" freonand if this could lead particularly to this problem (the shaft seal defect).

650pesos lang ang 134a/kilo kahit anong brand 1kilo ay sobra pa sa isang kotse lalo na pag bago ang compressor.
r-22 200pesos lang per/kilo wag na haluan pa lalong lalaki ang gastos masisira ang compressor, r-22 gamit yan sa air-con ng bahay. ang mahal lang talaga ay yun talent fee ng gagawa and patong nila sa parts and maraming manloloko.

R-134a (Tetrafluoroethane) gamit sa modelong sasakyan/refrigerator
R- 22 (Chorodifuoromethane) gamit sa lumang air-con ng bahay
R- 410a gamit sa modelong air-con ng bahay, paki search nalang ng chemical name.. and marami pang ibang klase.

ang quality ng lamig sa auto depende na yan sa system mo pag lokal ang evap and medyo luma na and my leak pa mahina rin yan, pag okey lahat parts mo kahit r-12 ilagay mo diyan lalamig yan, wala na yatang nabibiling r-12 ngayon ang ideal na freon yun nasa disposable tank kasi walang corrosion ang tangke, di tulad ng malalaki na refillable.
