Bump ko lang itong thread na ito.

The second day since my dad gave me his project car nag overheat ako, so naging habit ko na mag lagay nang tubig sa radiator and coolant reservoir before I use my car. (Matagal na stock yung auto)

Fast forward to this day, two weeks ko na napansin na hindi ako na nababawasan ng tubig sa radiator but laging ubos ang tubig ko sa coolant reservoir ko.

I texted my dad kung ano ang problem, he told me wala daw problema, kasi may may tubro daw yung tsikot, mainit daw yung turbo kaya laging nauubos yung tubig ko sa coolant reservoir.

    Ano problema dito?

    Thanks guys!

Palinis mo muna radiator at check mo mga hose at water pump bka my leak..

I've owned a CRV, City before and now I'm driving an Elantra and Grand Vitara. For the CRV, City & GV, never nabawasan yung ng coolant yung coolant reservoir. Pero yung Elantra ko, after a few months, nababawasan ng coolant. Same din with my dad's Starex. Ganon ba talaga mga Hyundai?

Another question: Do I need to go to a Suzuki specialist talyer to have my GV's airocon looked at?

    Are you sure?

    Who told you that?

    tubig.

Yes there is a pressure when hot, but pressurized cooling system is different and its mostly found in
    european cars.

Like what brand of european cars?

In todays cars, be it euro, japan, korean, etc. ........ the radiator cap (i.e on top of the radiator) is almost non existent. Coolant reservoir is one and the same as expansion tank, IIRC.

Or can you name a euro brand that has a separate coolant tank and expansion tank?

I have euro and jap cars. And I never put water straight into the radiator, its always straight into expansion/coolant tank.

Like BMW and almost all euro cars has no coolant reservoir tank separate from the system.
Expansion tank of these cars are part of entire cooling system or coolant circulation and the system is sealed,
that's why they called it pressurized.

Jap cars coolant reservoir serve only as a coolant storage when the excessive coolant and pressure from the radiator
release during hot and back to it when cold.

The two system are different. We can filled coolant in coolant reservoir just to put it into max. level but you can not
filled the system full via coolant reservoir, you have to use the radiator cap. In pressurized system no option only in
expansion tank to put coolant through the system, then bleed to assure that there is no air in the system if there is
    it will create problem.

So, for example in a "cold" BMW engine, if I open the coolant reservoir cap, do I risk losing pressure in the cooling system?

Is this normal? Nagbabawas water sa coolant reservoir
