peeps, since "new aircon shop found" title ng thread... pede na siguro dito ito, from HCP forum, pasig area naman toh. Thread now is on the 7th page, 20 posts per page, all positive feedback. Read on...:
It is very seldom for me to write an FR(Field Report) for a shop nor be impressed with one..
but from things Ive experienced, this one truly deserves it. makes me wonder why a person/shop so good at his craft/profession is taken for granted(he lives very close to my house and havent heard of him).
here goes.
Last week I had a problem with my AC, initial diagnosis; replace my compressor, replace practically everything, cleaning etc. estimated at 27k(Ouch!) by a shop at QC. in my search for a better(or was it cheaper). I did some research and consulted with some friends with similar problems before. A lot of shops were recommended including the one located at the back of SM north which got mixed reviews( sadly this shop fall short in terms of quality work and service)Time pressed and budget constraint made me choose a shop that was recommended by 3 of my kumpares(Ozzyzero, Redsplash, SIR103) I was very reluctant at first of course i don't want my car touched by fly by night shops who have no tools, no experience and very interested with what you have in your pocket, kinda like those guys na kumakaway-kaway sa banawe. but I trust this 3 friends of mine with my son so I took the plunge.
Joey is a middle age man, slim and have a very accommodating presence. I did not introduce myself as an HCP member/officer I don't want him to treat me as such, wanted to see his attitude towards an everyday customer para kung nagsuplado siya Im out the door.. ;).
The conversation went fine his shop small(a three car garage)as it is got complete set of tools, and his estimates was so cheap, considering he will be using imported freon(boxed brandnew in a tank just for you) made me ask "are you sure" several times .
Normally I would leave my car in a shop and be back when its ok.. but this time while he was removing my car aircon parts hes describing it in FULL DETAIL, what its for? what does it do, what are the symptoms if it is broken etc. etc. and that made me STAY.. eh kahit tatay ko pag tinutulungan ko hindi ganun eh hahaha.
Ive learned a lot from this guy para akong nagseminar. I thought he was faking it(papa-impress) but it happens a lot youll realized that ganun talaga siya hehehe..
later found out that he came from a long line of Aircon Technicians his father was doing those Impalas, Mustangs, muscle car aircons before(actually he was there helping his son)..
this is getting long well to cut it short this guy is highly recommended because:
- He is honest.
- He know what hes doing
- He uses original (boxed canistered)imported freon and oil, he will not do it unless he provide this 2
- He got genuine concern and quality in his work,I remember he saw some broken
engine support in my car and he replaced it free of labor, he said hes there anyway.. wow
- Hes a listener, if you have something you want done in your car(perhaps route a certain hose, wiring, bracket, alignment ) he'll listen and tell you if its possible and if it is he will do it at no charge.
- He solders (Hinang) aluminum pipes like magic he showed it to me parang wala talagang dugtong.
- He works beyond office hours up to 11pm he said he can do general aircon cleaning from 7pm to 11pm (yahoo no more undertime)
- Hes a natural teacher, ive learned a lot from him compared to my practical arts teacher back in HS.
- Hes an overall good guy
by the way
after the work is done I didnt know my car can be colder (hahaha tintless ako ), nagfofog siya up to the rear glass (1st gen CRV)..
from 27k estimated by a shop
I spent approximately 8k for the ff:
Surplus Type R compressor and bracket(thanks lemuel)
JDM Evaporator(Cooling Coil)
Bnew Expansion Valve
Bnew Dryer
Piping conversion for JDM Cooling coil, and Type R Compressor
Cleaning
Flushing
imported R134a Freon(in a boxed canister)
imported oil
Engine support
Airconditioning seminar
Happy
I introduce myself as aprt of the HCP Family after the work is done and thank the guy for his help, this thread is for sharing this blessing and an act of thanks

April 18th, 2010 12:53 PM #68Well, cleaning of aircon at Mang Mario is about 500 pesos only. Compare that to sir Anthons 2K. For me, I had my freon re-charged w/c costs about 400 at Mang Mars, Cool Attack charged me about 1K. So yeah, mas mahal though the service is good naman. Mang Mars rates I mentioned can be verified by the other tsikoteers here.
