Auto air conditioning systems are basically composed of a compressor, an evaporator, a condenser, blower, regulators, connecting hoses and vents. The refrigerant is delivered by the compressor to the condenser where the absorbed heat will be released to the outside air. After the heat is released, the refrigerant would again be returned to the evaporator.
Get another technician to check the system - is like seeking a second opinion. Compressor problem is due to age, wear & tear and poor maintenance. You should not have this problem if your car is not that old.
