    Tap water is fine. Just make it a habit of completely draining & replacing it periodically. On the other hand, distilled water can be left inside the radiator longer because there is no fear of minerals accumulating within.

    As for the tap water being boiled then transformed to distilled, you're partly right. Let's take in account the Desalinization plants in the MidEast or in Aircraft carriers, sea water is boiled, steam is collected to be used, and the salts separated and discarded. In the case of radiators, the minerals stay inside causing clogs and corrosions.
