The color is just a dye. Any coolant will do.
Safest answer is go to casa and buy a coolant specific to that model.
However, some coolants are rated long life some are standard.

My car's coolant is color orange (dont know what brand) and is running low na.

So is it okay to mix any brands as long as it is still the same color?

    Salamat po.

Coolant color represents a certain formulation. You can mix coolants with different brands, but it has to be the same color.

    In my limited experience/knowledge:

Color of orange(?)/pink(?) is Toyota bro... Better to use coolant with the same color, or buy it from the car dealer....

Green is Honda;- think other Hondas are using blue.

    Blue is Mitsubishi/Hyundai/Subaru...

Where does Prestone's neon green/yellow go with?

The color signifies the ingredients used to formulate it. It does not necessarily mean that like-colored coolants from different manufacturers can be mixed.

Well, maybe they can. But if you want to be absolutely sure that it's going to be compatible, use whatever is recommended in the manual.

Do note that the cooling system is one big electrolysis machine and the coolant stays there for years on end. As it is, the environment is ripe for chemical reactions to happen. It's only the chemical make-up of the coolant that's stopping that. However, using the incorrect coolant may cause chemical imbalances that can induce corrosion.

^ Totally agree! Besides you change your coolant every 4-5 years, so why skimp?

You can mix prestone with any color of coolant.

Been doing this for years now and so far so good.

Thank po sa mga sagot. Great help talaga kayo.

    So safe lng pala.

I'll buy the coolant with the same color (orange) and pour it to the remaining coolant.. Ill also consider going to toyota hehehe

^ Honda Type 2 Long Life Coolant is blue and it's not listed. At the very least, that chart is probably outdated.

This pretty much sums up what my point was. You can probably mix certain types together with little to no cause for concern but doing so will entail varying degrees of guesswork. You can go through that trouble or you can just pop into your car dealer and buy a jug of OEM coolant specifically for your vehicle and let that be the end of it.
