August 24th, 2013 11:26 PM #211) Having the thermostat open sooner doesn't necessarily do anything more for you unless you're tuning your car and you would like to keep your thermostat wide open for longer periods of time. This will increase your warm up time and fuel consumption as well.
2) The 1.3 bar cap likewise only raises your boiling point insignificantly at the expense of raising the pressure in your cooling loop causing your hoses and seals to prematurely fail.
