To an old car with no overheat nor coolant loss issue using plain water, the of use anti-rust additive only *around P100.00 per 10 liters of coolant capacity is enough, for better efficiency use surfactant like Redline Water Wetter or Royal Purple Ice.
Some notice leaks when a ethylene glycol is used in old cars. It is not that the glycol mix eats your coolings system but this coolant has a much lower surface tension, it will leak much easier through invisible cracks and holes which you will not see with plain water.
Some Ethylene Glycol products e.g. Prestone (Philippines) is too foamy, buy one mix it with water and shake it. Foaming in your cooling system is a very bad idea.
