March 19th, 2009 02:43 AM #751HINDI NA AKO BABALIK SA KANILA. im making this long post out of frustration from their service.
we used to be a satisfied customer, we had our cars serviced there since a few years back.
pero lately, sunod-sunod na bad experience namin sa kanya.
1. less than half a year, lagi na may nasisira sa a/c ng lancer ko (*maybe* di talaga nila kasalanan, pero kung magaling sana sila, nap-prevent sana to.) lagi may tagas sa seal here and there.
2. everytime nagpapagawa ako, OVER PRESSURED lagi a/c (freon) ko, which i discover obviously after i've left the shop and kung kailan super init = BAD TRIP. (symptom is compressor disengages, but the idle rpm rises above normal. bago servo ko.)
3. despite that, i still recommended them to my bro, nasira a/c ng adventure nya. assessment sa kanya, butas daw evaporator, pero di in-explain nang maayos. hindi car-junkie bro ko, so to be sure, he asked for 2nd and 3rd opinions from other shops. WALANG BUTAS daw.
4. went back to mang mario's to have them check the evaporator again (since rekomenda ko nga sila), pero NABASTOS lang daw siya ng worker at ni mang mario himself, saying something like eh di pagawa nya raw sa iba. nice "customer service" eh.
(for those who frequent him, im sure you'll agree na may pagka-arogante talaga si mang mario at mga tao nya).
of course, my brother just left the shop immediately, pissed.
5. my lancer's a/c broke down again a few weeks back. (less than half a year since it was last serviced by them). took it to them, assessment was BUTAS EVAPORATOR. i just realized they leak-tested it WITHOUT CLEANING THE EVAPORATOR. basic ito ng car a/c diba, papaano ka magde-detect ng leak kung marumi yun. moreover, mas lilitaw nga yung butas pag natanggal yung dumi.
--i was quoted P5,800 for service + orig evaporator. wow mura, but too good to be true. i asked orig and replacement parts dealers, mahina na ang 6k. too good to be true.
--since di na ako convinced sa trabaho nila, took my car to another aircon service shop, ni-refer sa amin ng co-league ng bro ko.
--immediately, the worker spoted that there was OIL on the expansion valve, dead-giveaway of a leak in the area. (WTF, di nakita nila mang mario yun?)
--to be sure, he leak-tested it again. cleaned the evaporator, observed it underwater, all the while in-explain pa sakin yung symptoms pag may leak. verdict, WALANG BUTAS.
--pinalitan lang yung seals, replaced it. then the usual vacuum and recharging. ayun, malamig na ulit. excellent craftsmanship. total bill was a little over P1k.
btw, the a/c shop i'll be going to from now on is AVES AIRCONDITIONING. to give you an idea of their prices, their basic cleaning service is P1500 daw. sure, di hamak mas mahal kina mang mario, pero VERY PROFESSIONAL service in my opinion. WORTH IT. mala-warehouse yung place, can fit more than 10 cars (pero napupuno sila). mababait lahat ng tao, from service crew, to secretary, to the owner himself (mr. rex).
also, i noticed they used IMPORTED FREON (from japan yung nakita ko ginamit sa akin), naka box pa at naka-small shellane-like tanks. (unlike mang mario's small beat-up tanks. malay ko ba saan galing yun.)
LESSON: kung GIPIT kayo, sure you can try and risk it at mang mario's. cheap place.
if you want to be sure of the quality, go somewhere else, ask your friends.

surprisingly, sumablay sila just for the first time sa akin.. and after some years of not posting here sa board, may negative comments na sa kanila..
anyway, gusto ko sana malaman kung open sila ng sundays at ibabalik ko oto ko sa kanila bukas, di ko na naibalik kanina kasi i have to fetch my lola sa airport...
btw, saan po yung AVES?

March 28th, 2009 03:49 PM #756*mykelan212002: sobrang karga ng freon. based from experience, i think factor na rin yung sobrang init ngayon (im sure hindi taken into account climate ngayon nung dinevelop mga a/c systems before).
*sarangusong: i used to be a loyal customer din, ilang beses ko pa naman sila nirekomenda. :P
aves is near banawe, 112 speaker perez street. isa ko pa nabalitaan magaling is eeb aire along timog ave. might try them next time, mas malapit sa akin.

March 29th, 2009 11:44 AM #759proper sevicing of A/C systems nowadays is we have to have the right equipment to do it right .
the procedure i do is first diagnose the cause of trouble then go from there .
to do a leak test ,the tech should'nt have to remove the suspected part just to get lucky .
to charge the system, it must be measured by a weighing scale to be precise
- when it's really hot ,it's good to under charge it at 10% to protect the compressor
good A/C shops should be equipped with ELECTRONIC LEAK DETECTOR , WEIGHING SCALE, and the other tools needed for the trade

thanks aceaceace.
i went again to mang mario yesterday for the back job.. found out na nagleak sa may o-ring.. so pinalitan... dahil back job, free na.. so tuwang tuwa na ako...
Thread was made nung 2018 pa po sir.
