wen ur evaporator is icing up n restricted airflow occurs then its cleaning time. 6 months is too often unless u use it all d tym.

boydapa: AFAIK once a year would be more than enough. BTW does your car have an in cabin filter?

my rule of thumb when it comes to car A/C system, if it ain't broke, don't touch it.

Sa oto ko ngayon, hanggat lumalamig or walang sira yung A/C di ko pinagagalaw.

Keeping your passenger side clean will help extend the cleaning period since that's where your evap is as well.

Same with artpogi.

If you can access the air intake, which is usually found when you remove your glove compartment, then put a 3M aircon filter cut as per size. You just replace the filter every 3 - 6 months. It prevents dust from accumulating inside the evaporator assembly. Then you don't need your aircon de-gassed for cleaning.
