how do you get rid of this bad odor coming from the car's air-con? it's quite irritating because the car is still new and it emitts this particular smell (like cloth that didn't dry well)..the smell stays for only about 20 sec from air-con start up. I don't know where it comes from. Wala naman sumakay/sumasakay/pinapasakay na taong mabaho dun hehehehe I need your help! Bka kasi may alam kayo na solution para ndi ko na sya dalhin sa dealer. Thanks!!

Turn off the A/C but not the blower. Leave the blower on for a two to three minutes in high setting before turning the system off.

That's probably coming from the moisture that accumulates near the AC system air inlet.

ilang taon na yung sasakyan? you might want to have the A/C system cleaned.

    What he said^
Common problem among bimmers. One cure is to replace the filters or you can spray Lysol while the AC is on at the vent intake.

i don't suggest putting lysol spray while the ac is on at the vent intake, actually, lalong mangangamoy. magaamoy suka.

there is a mold killer spray available in the market today. i just forgot the brand, but i've seen some at Ace Hardware.

Ganyan din unit ko wayback in ’01 kabago-bago amoy pawis ang singaw ng vent! Asked myself, ganito ba talaga pag diesel? Because it was my first diesel ride. What I did is I make it a point to turn off the a/c thermostat on-off switch first for a few minutes before shutting down the fan and engine. Eventually nawala ang amoy panis na pawis na akala ko yung mga mech sa casa hehehe.

moisture nga yan na naiiwan when you turn the a/c off. tama suggest nila na turn off mo muna yung a/c thermostat while leaving the fan running for a minute or two before shutting down the engine. ito din ginagawa ko to make sure na ma drain yung moisture.

pero if hindi talaga matanggal yung amoy then i suggest pa check mo sa casa yan if bago pa yung car mo. kasi ito yung experience namin sa honda city ng sister-in-law ko. wala pa 1 month yung car pero mabaho yun amoy ng a/c. may pinalitan yung casa sa a/c system then natanggal na yung bad smell.

Lysol ang ginagamit nila sa dealership. Perhaps we have a different formulation here. But it's not a cure-all. May amoy pa rin. I just shut the AC off a couple of miles before I get home

Are you sure it is not the ionized air because of a very high thermostat setting? Most of my cars have this ionize air smell when the thermostat is set at the coolest position and the fan is set at low speed. What I do is just set the thermostat at a higher temperature level or increase the speed of the fan or both. After about 1 minute, the smell will disappear.

may ginamit ako spray (with a long tube hose) pero galing sa Korea, I'm not sure if meron mabibili, pero sapalagay ko meron. It made the smell a bit better, nag amoy parang alcohol, neutralized yung bad odor.

Pero since bago ride mo, its not advisable to use any spray yet, they are right, bring it back sa casa , they might have a better way to deal with it.
