When Suzuki launched the original GSX-R750 in 1985, the company set the template for modern sportbikes that still rocks today. The proof is an impressive string of consecutive AMA Superbike championships for the larger GSX-R1000. Actually, though, Suzuki sportbikes now range from the lightweight GSX-R600 to the heroic 1.3-liter Hayabusa, a favorite of extreme-performance junkies everywhere. Like other Japanese companies, the Suzuki motorcycle lineup also extends to Boulevard cruisers, the versatile V-Strom 650 and 1000 adventure bikes, practical standard bikes like the SFV650, and DR dual-sport choices between 200cc and 650cc. Suzuki’s forte is streetbikes, but an assortment of two-stroke RM and four-stroke RM-Z motocrossers compete at the highest level nationally. Add a pair of DR-Z125 playbikes and a couple of Burgman scooters to the mix, and Suzuki has all the possibilities covered.
