Universal Motors Launches New Nissan Murano Z51
UNIVERSAL MOTORS CORP. (UMC) recently introduced the much-awaited Nissan Murano Z51 at the Rizal Grand Ballroom of the Edsa Shangri-La. Preceded by a detailed introduction by UMC marketing group senior vice president Elizabeth H. Lee followed by an audiovisual presentation and dance number, the Murano Z51or ZUV, as UMC calls it, was unveiled to a lusty applause by an audience composed of society bigwigs, dealers and members of the motoring press.
The Murano Z51 is the newest iteration of Nissan’s legendary “Z” line of power cars and futuristic designs that have captured the imagination of car lovers all over the world.
The new Z51 packs a 3.5-liter VQ35DE engine—the same powerplant that propels the Nissan 350Z sports car, which delivers 265 hp of power and 336 Nm of torque. It is controlled by the Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) with Adaptive Shift Control (ASC) transmission, which is engineered to provide seamless shifting, smooth acceleration and outstanding fuel economy. It also sports an All-Wheel Drive system (AWD) offering maximum traction and superior handling resulting in one of the most stable and smoothest rides in its class.
The exterior of the Z51 is a combination of roundness and sharpness. Its powerful and unique body design is modern but touched with classic lines that keep your eyes on the whole vehicle instead of taking it piece by piece.
Inside, the feeling of luxury exudes from the design, fabrics and surfaces. The seats are all done in leather, enhancing the feeling of comfort. As in the previous Murano, space inside the cabin is such that movement is not constricted. An 11-speaker Bose audio system keeps you entertained, while variable lighting in the cabin gives you that full suite experience.
The Murano Z51 also features an eight-way power front driver seat, finding the best seat, steering wheel and door mirror positions for you. Coupled with a personal driving memory function, these positions can be identified and configured.
The rear seats fold down with a simple pull of a lever to increase cargo space but jumps back to its original position with the mere touch of a button. The rear door is also controlled by a soft touch switch that makes it easier to load cargo.
The Murano Z51 is equipped with a push-button starter system which includes the Nissan Intelligent Key that allows for entry and exit into the vehicle without the need to bring out the key and slipping it into the key slot.
For safety, the Z51 is fitted dual, front, side and curtain SRS airbags. ABS, EBD and the entire “alphabet” of safety has been thrown in. Xenon headlamps provide intense long-range illumination and optimum visibility in all-weather conditions. A Reverse Camera Monitor with Parking Assist with a predictive course line guide for a safer and smoother reverse parking.
The Murano Z51 is priced at P3.1 million.
