Toyota Philippines Resumes Full Production

Toyota Philippines
Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. (TMP) is now operating at full capacity after a production cutback that started three months ago following the disasters in Japan.

TMP vice president Rommel Gutierrez said the company resumed its two-shift work schedule at 100% production level in June as supply of auto parts became stable.

Gutierrez said by Septmber, TMP will make further adjustments to make production more efficient so they could achieve their target volume for this year.

TMP, along with other major auto assemblers in the Philippines, earlier faced delays on its supply of parts from Japan after the devastating earthquake and tsunami affected auto manufacturing operations there.

To cope with supply chain disruptions, TMP cut production days as well as work shifts from April to May.

TMP has assured dealers that the supply line was getting better, and sales plan for the year would depend on the pace of recovery.

The company assembles Vios and Innova models at its plant in Sta. Rosa Laguna. These models account for 50% of its total sales.
