the bigger the ego. well that's what they say. i hadn't really noticed till my friend actually mentioned this recently.

her: bakit ang yabang mag-drive ng mga naka-fortuner?
me: ha? di naman siguro lahat
her: they always drive like they own the roads
me: maybe they do…
her: if i owned the roads i wouldn't buy a fortuner
me: meaning?
her: it's the cheapest "big" car and people act as if they're driving expeditions.

hmmm from that day on i took a notice of how people with big cars drove. true enough may pagka-kaskasero sila. well most of them tho. i hate generalizing people but for that whole week of observation i became more aware of SUVs that cut their way thru traffic, counter-flowed, honked endlessly and tail-gated me like a body-guard convoy. baka nga it was just because i was consciously "looking out" for this kind of behavior. and ironically most of them drove fortuners nga. maybe it's the size of the car that makes them feel more important or maybe it's just their individual personalities (and they all just happened to drive the same car). whatever it is it probably has something to do with the macho effect that "big things" project. now you tell me…is bigger really better?

oh and that girl i was with drove a mini-cooper.
